The Catalytic Filter Bag Research Team develops high-performance catalytic filter bags that reduce fine dust and harmful gases simultaneously at industrial emission sources, and takes these developments through to commercialization.
Our catalytic filter bags use specialized catalysts to reduce specific harmful gases in flue gas, such as nitrogen oxides, helping customers meet increasingly stringent emission regulations.
We also develop customer-tailored, high-performance catalytic filter bags that cut both harmful emissions and operating costs.
CATALYTIC FILTER BAG · PARTICLE FLOWHow are dust and NOx treated inside CataFill™?
OVERVIEWOverall flow
STEP 1Dust capture & DeNOx
Dust is captured on the surface of the ePTFE membrane and builds up into a dust cake. NOx passes through the membrane and is reduced to nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O) in the catalyst-loaded PTFE felt.
STEP 2Air Pulsing & Catalyst Retention
A pulse of compressed air from inside the bag knocks the dust cake off, and it falls into the hopper. The pulse shakes the fibers and catalyst, but the outer ePTFE membrane holds the catalyst in, so it is not lost and NOx reduction continues.
Conceptual animation for illustration only; actual particle size, speed and proportions differ. NOx reduction requires a reducing agent such as ammonia or urea.
R&D Objectives
Developing high-performance catalytic filter bags tailored to the needs of different industrial sites, and building commercialization technology optimized for each facility

R&D Details
Research Task: High-Efficiency DeNOx Catalytic Filter Bags
High Performance: Research target of 50–60% NOx removal at high temperature (200°C and above); these are R&D figures, not product specifications. For current CataFill™ specifications, see the product page.
Developed a catalytic filter bag that is active at the lower inlet temperatures (150–160°C) typical of industrial sites, so no gas reheating is required, saving energy and cost
High Durability: Developed an acid-gas-resistant, highly durable catalytic filter bag through research on catalyst and filter structure
Advantage: Avoids the space and cost of a new SCR system – catalytic filter bags simply replace the existing bags in the baghouse
Applicable Industries: Incineration, power plants, pulp & paper, petrochemical, cement, steel, and more
Research Task: AI-Assisted Catalytic Filter Bag Systems
Field Applicability: Uses AI to predict NOx levels and adjust SNCR reagent dosing
Optimized System Design: Optimizes how SNCR and catalytic filter bags work together for maximum removal efficiency
Stability & Consistency: Reduces variability from differences in operator experience and keeps stack emissions consistent
Research Task: Multi-Pollutant Catalytic Filter Bags
Industry-specific catalytic filter bags: Developed catalytic filter bags for simultaneous removal of fine dust and industry-specific harmful gases (NH₃, CO, etc.)
SCR Oxidation Composite Catalyst: Developed a catalyst for simultaneous removal of fine dust and multiple harmful gases (NOx reduction reaction + THC/TVOC oxidation reaction, etc.)
