Alongside its filter bag manufacturing, Micro-one Co., Ltd. designs and builds waste incinerators, flue gas treatment systems and power plant dust collection equipment on an EPC basis. Designs are checked with CFD flow analysis and 3D modeling, and every system can be fitted with Micro-one’s own DuraFill™ and CataFill™ filter bags.
We offer cost-effective consulting tailored to each customer and provide after-sales service once the plant is handed over.
Selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) is a DeNOx system that sprays urea or ammonia directly into the hot furnace, without a catalyst, converting nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O). With no catalyst, SNCR is simple and low-cost to install, but it typically achieves 30–50% NOx reduction in the field, less than SCR. Micro-one supplies SNCR systems that inject urea solution through twin-fluid nozzles into the secondary combustion chamber at 950 ± 50°C.
What are the key features of SNCR?
No Catalyst
Lower capital and maintenance cost; simple to install and operate.
Temperature Is Critical
Ammonia works best at about 870–1,100°C and urea at about 900–1,150°C. Too cold leaves unreacted ammonia; too hot creates more NOx.
NOx Reduction
Typically 30–50% in field applications.
Ammonia Slip Control
Overdosing lets unreacted ammonia escape (ammonia slip), which is usually held to 5–10 ppm or less.
Flexible Application
Can be fitted to many combustion units with a suitable temperature zone.
Where is SNCR used?
Waste Incinerators, Power Plants and Industrial Boilers
Other Combustion Units with a Suitable Temperature Zone
Frequently Asked Questions
How much NOx can SNCR remove?
Typically 30–50% in the field, depending on furnace temperature, mixing and residence time. Where higher removal is needed, SNCR is combined with SCR or catalytic filter bags.
What is ammonia slip?
Unreacted ammonia leaving with the flue gas. It causes odor and can form salt deposits in downstream equipment, so injection rate and location are tuned to minimize it.
What if SNCR alone cannot meet the NOx limit?
Replace the downstream baghouse bags with CataFill™ catalytic filter bags, which use the remaining ammonia to reduce NOx further.
