Alongside its filter bag manufacturing, Micro-one Co., Ltd. designs and builds waste incinerators, flue gas treatment systems and power plant dust collection equipment on an EPC basis. Designs are checked with CFD flow analysis and 3D modeling, and every system can be fitted with Micro-one’s own DuraFill™ and CataFill™ filter bags.
We offer cost-effective consulting tailored to each customer and provide after-sales service once the plant is handed over.
Retrofit EP is an upgrade service that modifies the power supply, electrodes and gas distribution of an existing electrostatic precipitator (ESP) to raise its collection efficiency. It costs less and takes less time than building a new unit, and the existing structure is reused. Micro-one has installed its own 14,000 m³/h and 500 MW modules for Retrofit EP research.
What does Retrofit EP improve?
Strengthened Electric Field
High-voltage power supply upgrade: Replaces the existing power supply with one that delivers higher voltage and current, and adds pulse energization to improve particle collection
Discharge electrode upgrade: Replaces existing electrodes with new designs that charge particles more effectively (e.g., high-efficiency discharge electrodes)
Mechanical Improvements
Collecting electrode replacement: Uses electrodes with larger surface area and improved contact
Rapping system upgrade: Improves dust removal from the plates with upgraded mechanical or electromagnetic rapping
Flow Optimization
Gas flow redesign: Improves gas distribution to achieve uniform airflow and higher overall collection efficiency
Expanded Collection Area
Additional modules: Installs extra collection zones in the ESP to increase capacity
Inlet/outlet design changes: Improves inlet and outlet gas flow for more efficient operation
Hybrid Technology Application
Combines the ESP with other dust collection technologies (e.g., bag filters or scrubbers) to create a hybrid system
Adds a wet ESP stage to remove fine particles and water-soluble pollutants
Cost Efficiency
Lower cost and shorter construction time than a new system, with maximum reuse of existing structures
Performance Enhancement
Raises collection efficiency to over 99%, depending on unit condition
Captures PM10 and PM2.5
Longer Equipment Life
Extends the service life of existing ESPs
Regulatory Compliance
Helps existing units meet stricter emission standards

Enhancing dust removal efficiency for hot flue gas from clinker production
Steelworks
Reducing emissions from blast furnaces and converters
Waste Incineration Plants
Improving fine dust removal efficiency in incineration processes
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it compare with installing a new dust collector?
Because the existing structure is reused, the upgrade costs less and takes less time, and it extends the service life of the unit.
How much can collection efficiency be improved?
It depends on the condition of the unit, but applying the latest technology can raise collection efficiency to over 99%.
What if an upgrade alone cannot meet the emission limit?
